KCBQ Monument Dedication

Today was a wonderful day: KCBQ-AM 1170′s glory days as a Top Forty Radio Giant was remembered in Santee, California.

We had estimated about 100 folks would show up. Over 300 folks — police estimates — showed up on a corner of the parking lot at Kohl’s Santee.

Thank you for coming. As I told the crowd, first we thought 75 chairs would be enough. I upped the order to 125 after Tom was on the DSC and Mark Larson show on Jack-FM and KCBQ-AM morning shows.

Obviously, we were short on seats, but long on memories of a radio station that earned a 60 share in the market at times.
